You are now at the foot of the grand staircase!
Admire the wrought iron railing, dated 1720, like the rest of this space designed to impress visitors.

Approach the Venus of Arles and discover its story on the label to your right.

In front of you, the large drape imagined by Studio KO evokes the sails of boats that crossed the Rhône in Arles, loaded with goods.
Since Antiquity, Arles has been a gateway for river and maritime trade between the Mediterranean basin and the rest of Europe. Spices, precious materials, and textiles passed through its port, to the delight of its inhabitants.

Now take the staircase to reach the first floor.
Even after restoration, some steps remain uneven: be careful going up and down.

Once on the landing, let yourself be guided toward the hallway in front of you. Gradually, the light dims, the walls darken. Admire the wall plaster that fades into black.
